BBC bosses have allegedly offered Will.i.am a 'monster pay deal' to ensure he doesn't walk away from the talent show
Sir Tom Jones was unceremoniously axed from The Voice last week and BBC bosses have allegedly offered Will.i.am a 'monster pay deal' to ensure he doesn't walk away from the show in the aftermath.
The 40-year-old music producer has been on the BBC One show since its inception in 2012 and producers, desperate to keep the last remaining original coach, are prepared to pay whatever it takes to ensure he doesn't turn his back on them now.
According to the Daily Star, the Feelin' Myself singer has managed to wangle a multi-million pound deal amid fears he would quit over the poor treatment of Sir Tom as fans call for a boycott.
A TV insider told the newspaper: 'They will do whatever it takes to rescue the show.
'Viewers saw Tom as a steady hand and showbiz veteran who knew exactly what he was talking about.
'And although Will doesn't have much in common with him, producers will be waving a lot of money around to get him to stay.'
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Will.i.am and The Voice for comment.
